The Diamond House-1316 Stanwood *First time on tour

Jacob, Derek and Sylvia Diamond welcome you to their English Tudor Castle. Built in 1921 for DeWitt and Minnie Shaw the house was originally of Bungalow architecture. Sylvia bought the house in 1989. The Diamonds have spent the last seven years restoring and remodeling the house.“We want people to come to our house during the Christmas season and feel magic the second they step foot on the property”. We spend our whole year creating ways to surprise our guests, and keep the nostalgia and tradition of Christmas past mixed with today’s modern luxury decor. It’s a great time to see old friends and just feel that Christmas cheer in the air.

Dotey -Kirkham Home - 409 North Buffalo *Recently updated

Bearing a Texas Historical Landmark, the Dotey-Kirkham House is believed to be the oldest house in Cleburne still standing. It was built circa 1867 for Elizabeth Pat Featherston Dotey. The Southern Colonial Cottage has two front rooms with fireplaces on either side of a central hallway. Early in the 1900’s, two wings were added behind each front room.Thomas Pierce Kirkham bought the house in 1912. Widowed, he married Elizabeth (Bessie) Jennings. Bessie had a young daughter, Mellie. Mellie sold the house to the city in 1965. In 2007 Johnson County Historical Commission became the owner. It is maintained by Johnson County and JCHC.

Elmore-Woods Home - 906 Prairie *First Time on Tour

Roy and Alverna Harding were the first owners of this 2900 square foot Craftsman House built in 1928. Lester and Katherine Elmore bought the home in 1965 for $3,800.00. Haley Woods bought the house in 2023. Haley, a long time member of Save Old Cleburne, bought a Folk Victorian house on 1009 North Anglin, restored it and had it on the Candlewalk Tour in 2017. Haley loves her new older home and is planning several parties this holiday season. She believes “There is no such thing as too much Christmas”. Themed Christmas trees are throughout the house.

Williamson-Stilwill House - 736 North Buffalo *Last Time on Tour was in 1983

Built in 1896 , This Victorian home features fish scale eaves, ornate fretwork, prairie style windows, complex gables and a large porch. Joesph T. Ramsey built the house as a gift to his daughter, Pearl, upon her marriage to James Williamson. The house remained in the Williamson family for 78 years. A Victorian Style hexagon shaped building in the back yard was built by a later owner and used originally as an art studio. Steven and Kelly Stilwill bought the house in 2014. They lived in one room of the house during six months of restoration. Their home is dressed up for Christmas, with period antiques, interesting collections and even has a secret room!

Boyd-O’Neil House -506 West Wilson *Last Time on Tour was in 2017

This Eastlake Style Victorian House was built for Wiley B. and Bettie Carness In 1896 at a cost of $1,086.00. This “Painted Lady” shows off her architectural details with colorful fish scales, balustrades and spindles. William and Mena Boyd owned the house in 1900. The Boyd family remained in the home for 78 years spanning three generations. Sean and Debra O’Neil bought the house in 2019. This is their first Turn of the Century home. “This is the perfect house for entertaining,” The Boyd’s enjoy hosting celebrations in their beautiful Victorian home.

First Baptist Church

The First Baptist Church majestically faces Caddo Street. Built in 1940, This Gothic Revival Style Church has 56 stained glass windows made by Jacaby Art Studio. Inside above the door is a 9’10’’ X 7’8” solid oak ‘Lord’s Supper’ carved by Alois Lang in 1948. It weighs 1,225 pounds. Come tour the sanctuary and see its beauty. Handbell performance is 4:00 pm. Open 1:00-5:00 during Candlewalk. You are also invited Sunday, December 8 to Cleburne Carol Sing and Concert at 6:00pm, come visit us!

Southern Joy Bakery & Bistro

Southern Joy was born from a desire and passion to create moments of joy through food. Heather and her servers invite you to come in and unwind, breathe a little easier, or spend hours enjoying lunch with a friend. Featuring grilled sandwiches, salads and soup of the day. Fresh baked cookies, pastries, cinnamon rolls and pies are some of the bakery treats. Savor their French press coffee and experience some Southern Joy.
